The UK has moved India to the \’amber list\’ from the \’red list\’. This will be effective from 4 am, Sunday 8 August. It means:
▪️ Visitor visas will be available to Indian travellers, along with “other long-term visas that have remained open.
▪️ Travellers arriving in #England can complete a 10-day quarantine at home or in the place they are staying”. This will reduce the hotel expenses of the travellers.
▪️ Travellers can choose to pay for a private #COVID19 test on Day 5 of the quarantine and end their quarantine if the result turns out negative.
▪️ A per the rules those under-18 and those fully vaccinated in the UK are exempt from the home quarantine, as well as those who have received two doses of Covid vaccine in the EU and US. This covers those who are administered both doses of the Covishield vaccine in India.
The ‘Amber’ category rules, however, demand that travellers “must take a COVID-19 test in the three days before travelling to England” and book and pay for COVID-19 tests to be taken after arrival in England.
